“Written during my masters studies, 1981-1984, herein are presented the conceptual underpinnings that directly led to the formation of the Turtle Island String Quartet. It includes the original violin quartet score of the piece TISQ was formed to play, Balapadam, which I composed by overdubbing the parts using violin and baritone violin, all the while dreaming that the impossible might happen, that a string quartet might come into existence that could bring this music to life. And so it began!!!”
